The inheritance declaration: the new Italian model

The Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) has update both cadastral backlog and inheritance declaration forms. The Italian Parliament, by introducing new incentives for a certain type of properties, made the updates essential. In particular, new incentives for condemned buildings and the third sector.

The first incentive involves all those condemned buildings because of natural disasters. Then, in relation to agricultural and mountain lands, tax updates are needed due to new interpretation guidelines.

In the context of aforementioned changes, privacy updates were also relevant. In fact, according to the art.13 of GDPR, the Italian Revenue Agency also updated privacy information guidelines. In such context, privacy updates were fundamental to cover the new telematics interchange of information between taxpayers and the agency. Moreover, paper submission of new forms is allowed only to individuals established abroad.

Under these circumstances, the Italian Revenue Agency has stated that previous form for inheritance declaration and cadastral backlog can still be used until 19th January 2020.
